Consumer Reports Criticizes Sharper Image
Air Purifiers as Poor!
Judge Tosses Libel Suit and Forces Sharper Image to Pay Legal Costs
Consumer Reports is after Sharper Image's Air Purifiers. They tested Image's Ionic Breeze Quadra Silent Air Purifier and four other filtering machines. The ones that are omnipresent on TV commercials.
They reported:
"All of these 'not recommended' products did a poor job in our tests of removing dust, smoke and pollen from the air," the statement said.
"In addition, all five of these products failed in Consumer Reports' labs the standard industry test for ozone generation."
Consumer Reports, after winning a libel case, is now calling on federal regulators to look at the advertising claims being made by sellers of the five air purifiers it examined.
These machines are trusted by millions, and if they are not effective at removing mold spores and their toxins on the outside and inside of the spores, that is a serious concern.
I guess free speech is still alive and well if you have 1/2 a million to use up front to defend yourself from what you feel is good science.
